2022 October 5 Star Champion: Jim Good

Each month we feature five winners and connect their stories to the 5 Star principle they best represent. 

Nomination by Jamie Valentine: Jim Good has been a Maintenance Technician with Associa OnCall at CMC Virginia for more than 13 years.  He regularly performs maintenance tasks at our client sites, and our onsite management teams LOVE him!  They’ve told us that Jim is very positive, extremely helpful, takes pride in his work, and can fix ANYTHING!  He is also very nice, humble, and a true gentleman, which we regularly hear about from our client board members.  While Jim deserves an award for these things alone, he also recently had an over-the-top WOW moment that we are proud to share. 

Jim was repairing a mailbox on a large client site when a distraught homeowner exited her home shouting for help.  She had her young daughter in her arms, and the child was struggling to breath.  Jim acted immediately, draping the child over his arm and thrusting his palm into her back.  After more than ten thrusts, not one but two toys were dislodged from the child’s throat.  When she started to cry, Jim knew that she would be okay.  He urged the mother to take her daughter for a medical checkup just in case, which she did.  As always, Jim was very humble about his actions, but he truly is a hero.
